Eco

I have eaten here and it was ace! Eco is a short walk from Clapham Common tube and just a slightly longer walk from Clapham High Street Station. Italian at heart, it offers so much more than you’d get from the ‘chain’ italian restaurants. Read my review HERE.

Megan’s Old Town

I’ve been here during the old Pando’ – you can read my review here. I’ve actually eaten here a few times but I nearly always have the same thing – Two poached eggs on sour-dough toast with a portion of Lamb Fries! Delish! It is a chain restaurant so you know the food will be the same as all the other Megan‘s but it has always been a good place to meet friends near Clapham Common. I have photos somewhere so really should do a review!

No. 32 The Old Town

Another place I’ve visited but only really for a drink on the sun terrace overlooking the park. On a sunny day you’ll be hard-pushed to find a better location for a drink and a bite to ear. No. 32 The Old Town is located a few minutes walk from Clapham Common Tube Station

The Pepper Tree

The Pepper Tree has been voted the best restaurant in Clapham by TimeOut and this is for good reason. They offer fantastic Thai food at a reasonable price and they have regular ‘specials’ that you really should try! For starters you should have the Chicken Satay (or the chicken wings, my other option) and you’ve got to try the Pad Thai as the main course.

The Reverend’s Final Thought

If you want to eat out near Clapham Common and take advantage of the Government’s Eat Out to Help Out discount then these restaurants will be where you want to go. I hope to be able to try some more of them as there are so many I’ve not been to yet. Remember, these restaurants have had a very hard couple of months, as have the staff, so be polite, follow the rules and support them so that they can still be there when the lock-down is over.
