With the government backed deal of ‘Eat Out to Help Out’, here is a list of all the places on Abbeville Road that are taking part.

What is Eat Out to Help Out?

I’ve put them into a Google Map for you to see where they are.

What are the Places Like?

Its a mix of the restaurants in Abbeville Road. Luckily there is quite a range of food offerings to choose from.

Camile Thai

I’ve not been able to eat in (yet) but have had takeaway from Camile Thai a few times. The quality of the food is amazing and although you might feel it is a limited menu, what they do offer is very thai and very enjoyable. An added bonus is they use compostable boxes so they are better for the environment. I can really recommend the Veggie Spring rolls and, if they have it on the menu (its a special), the Crispy Chilli Beef.

Nue Ground

Another place I’ve only had take away from – Nue Ground. Walking past when they were only doing take-away I had their salt-beef sandwich and a portion of chips. The chips were MASSIVE but the beef sandwich was out of this world! The staff were super-friendly and chatty.

Bistro Union

I’ve not eaten from here before so Bistro Union is a place I’d love to try. The menu is quite impressive and currently includes Octopus and steak. They offer 3 courses for £32 so after the government Eat Out to Help Out discount it would cost just over £20. What a bargain!

The Abbeville

One of London’s top 20 Gastropubs (The Times), The Abbeville looks fantastic with a mixture of indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is typically ‘pub’ like with something for everyone. I’d have the chicken wings (you all know how much I love them!) to start with the corn fed chicken….The steak is tempting but the chicken sounds amazing – especially with confit garlic. They offer a number of the starters and sides as ‘bar food’ so go for a drink and grab a bite or two while you are there.

33 Abbeville Road

Walking past 33 Abbeville Road it has always seems a bit more relaxed. I’ve not eaten here (dining in or take-out) but I can’t wait to try the Halloumi & Courgette Fritter to start and have a main course of the sirloin steak. It comes with cavolo nero which is a bit like kale and very tasty. They have also been known to hold barbecues at the weekend – but do note that these wouldn’t be included in the Eat In to Help Out discount.

Pizza Express

What can I say, I’ve eaten in here before but you all know what Pizza Express is like. Currently they are offering free dough balls with any main course until the end of August. It does advise that this isn’t valid with any other offer but it SHOULD be valid with the ‘Eat In to Help Out’ discount. Keep an eye on the Pizza Express offers on their website as you might find there is a set menu or 2-4-1 deal that you can have as well as the EOTHO discount.

The Reverend’s Final Thought

If you want to eat out in Abbeville road and take advantage of the Government’s Eat Out to Help Out discount then these restaurants will be where you want to go. I hope to be able to try some more of them as there are so many I’ve not been to yet. Remember, these restaurants have had a very hard couple of months, as have the staff, so be polite, follow the rules and support them so that they can still be there when the lock-down is over.
