Free Eye-Test with Vision Express
If you are overdue an eye test, like I am, then you’ll be happy to know that Vision Express are offering free eye-tests as it is National Eye Health Week. National Eye Health Week runs from Monday 23rd September to Sunday 29th September.

Althought I’ve been a glasses wearer most my life (29 years and counting!), I’ve been quite lax recently in getting my eyes tested. Although you have 2 eyes, they don’t offer the level of redundnacy that you might want. Losing an eye would give you loss of depth percecption for starters. National Eye Health Week is there to promote positive eye care and health and highlight how important it is for everyone.

Book Your Free Eye Test
Head over to the Vision Express website via this link and get your eye test booked. I was emailed a confirmation within minutes and at the bottom of the email was the voucher for the free eye test. It has an expiration date of the 31st October so if you book your eye test now it looks like you don’t have to worry about it being during National Eye Health Week for it to be free.
How much do eye tests cost usually?
A standard eye test in the UK is around £20-25. There are instances when the NHS may cover the cost based on medical conditions or age. If you work with a VDU (Visual Display Unit) then your work may cover the cost of your eye exam and/or make a contribution to the cost of new glasses. Check with your employer to see what they offer.

Eye health is important and can identify health conditions you might not be aware of. If you are over due an eye test – which should be every 2 years, or sooner if you feel your eyes have deteriated – then this is a great oppertunty to save yourself £25 and make sure your eyes are in tip-top condition.
