What is CheckoutSmart?
CheckoutSmart is an app that gives you cashback when you buy certain items from your supermarket. The app presents you with different items and once you’ve purchased them in the supermarket, you can submit to get additional cashback into your account.
How Does It Work?
While you are in the supermarket open the app and then use the filters to filter by the shop you are in. You will then get presented with all the ‘offers’ – these will all be cashback ranging from a couple of pence all the way to 100% of the item value. Make sure you do select the shop you are in as you’ll kick yourself if you buy something from a shop which isn’t offering cashback on that item!
How to Claim the Cashback
Click the round ‘Claim’ button at the bottom of the screen, choose the shop, then the date of the shop, and then you can either just choose the item you are claiming for from a list or scan the barcodes. Finally you will need to take a photo of the receipt with the items clearly visible on there.
Payout Options
CheckoutSmart stores the cash when it is paid out, and you can choose to be paid immediately if you want to. If your balance is less than £20 then there is a 5% transfer fee to get paid, otherwise, if you have a balance over £20 then there is no fee to cash out. You can get paid into your PayPal account or you can be paid via BACS. Either way, your payout should be with you within 10 days of requesting it.
