Get A Free Share Today Worth Up To £100 – Trading212
I’ve just received an invite from one of my friends to join Trading212. They have a Refer-A-Friend deal which is certainly attractive. New joiners will receive a free share worth up to £100! Who doesn’t like a bit of free money?
What is Trading212?
Trading212 is an investment platform that can help you grow your savings. It offers 3 different types of account but to get your free share then you only need the ‘Invest’ Account. This also gives you access to a £0 fee Stocks & Shares ISA
How do you get a Trading212 Account?
Their platform is available as a website and as an app. It is available for both iOS and Android phone software. If you want a free share offer then click this link and sign up for an account. That’s it for getting an account but there is another stage if you want a free share.
How do you get the Free Share
Step 1 – Click the link above or —> HERE <— to get an account
Step 2 – Add you details
Step 3 – Deposit £1 (I did it via card payment and it showed instantly)
Step 4 – Wait 1 business day to Get your Free Share
Step 5 – Wait 3 days to Sell Share (if thats what you want)
Step 6 – Wait 30 days to Withdraw Cash
You don’t have to spend the £1 but you do need to deposit it on the account. I did it via card payment but it also allows you to make a payment via Bank Transfer, G-Pay or Skrill.
What Happens Next?
If you deposit via card payment the £1 should be showing on your account instantly. You then need to wait 1 business day for your free share to be allocated to your account.
This does mean if you make your deposit on a weekend, you’ll have to wait until Tuesday morning at the latest to get your free share.
Terms & Conditions
You can find them on the free share offer page and the important part is part of the ‘Allocation Section’. In here it mentions an important things (as well as all the other important T&Cs
The monetary value of the Referral Share shall be subject to a 30 days withdrawal lock-up period, from the day of the receipt of the Referral Share. The lock-up will not affect in any way any other assets You have – e.g. Your deposit or Your profit (if any) arising from the Referral Share etc. In case You have sold the Referral Share with a loss (for less than it initially cost) only the funds acquired from the sale would be subject to the lock-up period. If you have received the monetary value, instead of a Referral Share, those funds will be subject to the lock-up period.
Basically – you need to wait 30 days from getting the share to withdraw the cash. Its up to you whether you sell the share straight away or you just let it run to try to make a profit on it. Your £1 deposit can be withdrawn immediately.
Is My Money Safe?

The Reverend’s Final Thought
A free share is a fun thing. Although it may be valued anywhere up-to £100, it is completely chosen at random so it could be £1 or it could be £100 Worst case scenario is that you only get a lower-priced share and then you decide whether you want to keep it or sell it. It could be the start of your investing journey or it could be withdrawn and back into your ‘normal’ savings fund. You could even add it to your Chip account and put it towards that new laptop you are thinking about – and you’d be adding to that FREE £10 you got when you joined Chip with the link REVEREND10.
Nice article. I keep hearing about Trading212 and thinking I must give it a go. If I do, I’ll join up via your link 🙂
Thanks Nick.
I’ve just got my 3rd free share – National Grid. Interestingly NG are one of the companies I was looking to buy some shares in anyway as they are usually an acceptable dividend payer. I’m just annoyed I didn’t buy when they were less than £8 – Trading212’s free share is currently worth £10!
Let me know what share you get – fingers crossed it is a good one. 🙂
Thanks,
The Reverend
Your welcome
Why have you got a 3rd free share. You article only says about getting a free share when you deposit £1.
Hi Arthur,
Trading212 have a referral scheme. If you have signed up then you should be able to access all the details of it.
Thanks,
The Reverend
Well, I joined and got a free share in the Ford Motor Company worth around £8. So not quite as exciting as I might have hoped, but still worth having. Watch out for my own blog post about this opportunity soon!
Thanks again – Nick
Hi Nick,
So far I have 8 shares in Ford. Not worth millions but still a nice little amount to get for free.
Ford also paid out 4 x $0.15 last year so expect a dividend payment of $0.60 in a years time. Although not much as a monetary value, it works out at about 7.5% – not a bad passive return for no outlay!
🙂
Good lukc with your blog post and I hope you get some more free shares soon.
Thanks,
The Reverend
When you sell the ford shares and when you get your dividend payment will Trading212 charge for converting to £.
Hi Arthur,
I expect it will be a usd payment and held as usd. I guess I’ll find out when it comes.
Thanks,
The Reverend
Important to note: although Trading212 is authorised and regulated by the FCA it is NOT covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme so deposits are NOT guaranteed by the govt to the value of £85,000, contrary to what your article says. The FSCS covers banks, building societies and credit unions, not share trading platforms.
Hello John,
Trading212 are advising that Deposits are covered by the FSCS

I’ll reword that section of the blog post so it is clearer.
Thanks,
The Reverend
Another thanks to ‘The Reverend’! I’ve taken up this offer and got NG at £8.51. It is now currently worth £9.05. I reckon if I did sell for around £9 now that is still a good return from my £1 initial deposit. H/t to you, sir.
Hi Tim,
National Grid should (well it usually) pays a dividend so maybe you could be in luck come Dividend time.
🙂
Thanks,
The Reverend
